Chris Miller Ends Dry Spell With Opening Night Win At Lake View

– For Immediate Release

LAKE VIEW, SC (March 23) – Lake View’s Chris Miller ended a long winless streak Saturday night by taking the Late Model win Saturday night at Lake View Motor Speedway.

Willie Milliken set the fast time in qualifying with lap of 17.181 seconds. At the drop of the green flag, Miller got the advantage as Johnny Pridgen made it three-wide entering turn one. Miller led flag-to-flag to take the win over Pridgen and Milliken.

The SportMod division made their Lake View Motor Speedway debut with pole sitter Josh Fields leading every lap to take the win. Jordan Taylor and Cameron Norris, III had a fender banging battle throughout the race that culminated with Norris spinning down the backstretch with seven laps to go. Taylor would eventually retire from the race with damage. Following Fields at the finish were Cameron Norris, IV and Mike Manes.

Lumberton, NC’s Greg Cain saw his Limited Sportsman victory nearly slip away as he barely made it by the crashed cars of Stevie Reaves and Justin James in turn three. Second-place runner Benji Thompson was not as lucky as he crashed hard into the stalled cars and was eliminated from the race. That moved Chris Powers up to second, followed by Jamie Barnes, Scott Lewis, and Aaron Ellis at the finish.

Buck Causey was the beneficiary of another late-race caution that took out the leaders to take the Renegade win. Leader Michael Butler slipped up out of turn four and, as he spun entering turn one, Donald Williams and Joey Wilkes were collected. Causey, who had been damaged earlier in the race, led the rest of the way to take the win over Butler, Williams, Storm Daniels, and Josh Cook.

Clinton, NC’s Glenn Register led flag-to-flag to score the Stingerz division win over Jerry Johnson, defending track champion Kyle Jenks, Edward McNamara, and Andrew Rabon.

Fatback Chance was the Sharp Mini Late Model winner over Albert Brayfield and Johnny Pridgen.
