Norris Captures Over $2000 For Lake View Street Stock Win

LAKE VIEW, SC (April 5) – Leland, NC's Cameron Norris, IV scored a dominant win in the Street Stock division worth $2,111 Saturday night at Lake View Motor Speedway. The win was the first of the season for the defending Street Stock division champion.
Norris started the 20-lap race on the pole position and quickly jumped in to the lead. The first caution of the race waved on lap five for a solo spin by Austin Herring in turn one. Despite a few cautions for minor incidents, Norris went unchallenged for his first win of the season over Terry Caples, Cameron Holloway, Ryan Touchberry, and Joey Wilkes. Rounding out the top 10 were Robbie Turner, Aiden Ragland, Josh Herring, Kyle Rowell, and Austin Herring. Results are unofficial pending tire sample tests.
Christian Thomas led flag-to-flag for his first Late Model win of the year. Thomas joined fellow former track champion, Willie Milliken on the front row and raced into the lead entering turn one. Milliken maintained the pace set by Thomas until falling out of the race with eight laps to go due to overheating. Following Thomas at the finish were Steve Blackburn, Johnny Pridgen, Colton Stanley, and Milliken.
Pole sitter Peyton Abbott led every lap to win the Carolina Outlaw Super Street feature, despite a late-race scare. Abbott had a big league over the field until two laps to go when his car slowed with a mechanical issue. Abbott held on for the win over Russell Boyd, Willie Milliken, Johnny Moore, and David Royal.
Zack Cox took advantage of problems for Mike Bowman to score his first career Sportsman Modified win. Bowman led the first 11 laps until contact from Kyle Whitney on a restart sent him for a spin in turn one. Cox inherited the lead and never looked back to win over Jeff Tiley, Bowman, Whitney, and JJ Williams.
Tom Lovett took the lead on lap three from defending Stock V8 champion, Scott Lewis, and led the rest of the way for his third straight win this year. Michael Butler led at the drop of the green flag, but spun in turn four to bring out the caution flag. Lewis passed Lovett for the lead, but Lovett would move back by on lap three. Following Lovett and Lewis to the finish line were Jason Floyd, Chip Fenoff, and Butler.
Ryan Shabrum led flag-to-flag for his first INEX Legends win of the year. Although the race was slowed for minor spins, it was competitive throughout the event. Closely behind Shabrum at the checkered flag were Austin Neighbors, Tristen Stephenson, Caleb Day, and Joseph Sanoske.
Kyle Jenks was the winner in the SCDRA Sport Compact feature over Patrick Duchaine, and Lonnie Rumpf, Jr.
Lake View Motor Speedway will be in action again next Saturday night, April 12 for the Easter Bunny Southeast Late Model Showcase featuring the season opener for the Ultimate Super Late Models, paying $5,000 to win. Local Late Models will also be racing, along with the Southern Wedge Late Models, Red Clay Series 602 Late Models, and the Sharp Mini Late Models.
